New Origins was founded in 2015 in Redlands, California, by a team of mental health and addiction specialists committed to improving the quality of life and long-term recovery outcomes for men with single and dual diagnosis substance abuse disorders. We serve men in recovery across Southern California and beyond.
We believe that working through trauma, understanding triggers, and building healthy responses to micro-and macro-stressors is critical to long-term success. That’s why life skills development is combined with group and individualized therapy in customized treatment plans that are designed to address our clients’ specific needs.
Recognizing the need for a program that picked up where in-patient rehab left off, the New Origins team provides person-centered PHP, IOP and OP services that help people in recovery.
Very often, substance abuse occurs concurrently with mental health issues including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, personality disorders, and ADD/ADHD. According to the National Library of Medicine, “About half of people who have a mental disorder will also have a substance use disorder at some point in their lives and vice versa. The interactions of the two conditions can worsen both.”
For people in addiction recovery, understanding the role mental health plays in their substance abuse is critical. To that end, the New Origins team includes a number of counselors and therapists who specialize in co-occurring disorders. We combine customized treatment plans with the compassionate support and attention necessary for successful outcomes.
I came into New Origins completely broken and hopeless. I have been to numerous treatment centers and always relapsed when discharged. My experience at New Origins has been completely different than any other program. All of the staff here are very approachable and easy to talk to. They provide tools to help you stay clean and teach you how to apply them in life. The therapy sessions helped me find the root of why I used drugs, and not only did I identify my issues, they helped me work through them with encouragement. I have nothing but respect for New Origins for being there for me when I hit rock bottom and showing me there is a better way to live. Thank you, New Origins, for giving me an opportunity at a new life.

I have been to over 16 treatment centers, graduated 2, and relapsed shortly after, every single time without fail. Except for here at New Origins. The usual treatments were thirty days, then a ninety-day IOP, that's it. If you hadn't figured out life in four short months, you were basically out of luck. This is a huge factor as to why I kept relapsing, but the focus here is a long-term plan, and in my case, it actually worked. I am beyond words for the gratitude I have for everyone who has helped me thus far on my journey in recovery. The way the treatment and staff go about things in such a loving and genuinely caring manner blew my mind. Never had I been to a facility where I actually believed that the owners didn't see me as just a dollar sign. I was loved until I was able to love myself. This was an experience that I couldn't possibly forget. Thank you for everything.

My experience at New Origins, started right away, I felt right at home and comfortable. The abilities and understanding that this facility has never ceased to amaze me. The office/groups are only one aspect of learning from this facility. I’ve learned the essential way to take care of my living situation from living in the houses, which has helped me become a more independent individual. A key factor of this facility is the counseling and therapy staff. They have helped me get through many of the struggles I had before I came to this facility and things I struggle with when they arise. They have helped me reach inner peace and a better understanding of the person that was masked behind substances. They have helped me reach a place where I’m happy to be the person I am. They have helped me learn many coping skills to help when and if my depression becomes apparent again. The last thing I would like to address in my journey here is how they pushed and encouraged me to get out of my comfort zones. That said, it’s helped me have the confidence to pursue my dreams again. New Origins has been life-changing for me, I’m so grateful that I could come here.

Being newly sober I felt many undesirable feelings, emotions, and even physical pains. On top of all that, I had low self-esteem and felt like a failure. New Origins’ family atmosphere made me feel at home and gave me a newfound appreciation for life. Before New Origins, I had been in and out of treatment centers and I felt like just another number. New Origins was different. The owners, support staff, and everyone else in between cared about my well-being. It was apparent that they had a genuine interest in wanting me to succeed. I just turned 24 and for the first time in my life, I'm a productive member of society. Currently, I have 14 months clean, and my depression is almost non-existent. I know with the utmost certainty I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for New Origins and the people there. You're not just another number there because clients are approached with an individualized treatment plan that works for them. I'm eternally grateful for New Origins and I feel humbled to be a part of such an amazing and supportive family.

My experience at New Origins was one I will never forget. After several failed attempts to get sober, this was the one that truly stuck. Before I came to New Origins, I was hopeless and miserable, convinced that I could not achieve sobriety. But the amazing staff at New Origins helped me figure out who I was and taught me how to change my life. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I learned to be comfortable in my own skin, how to be a productive member of society, and how to be okay with who I am. Therapy was a key part of my recovery at New Origins, breaking me out of my shell. With therapy, I learned to trust and be more open with what I am feeling instead of keeping all of my issues bottled up. In a single word, I am grateful. I will forever be indebted to the staff of New Origins for how loving and supportive they are.

I’m Jordan and I am a recovering addict. The word “recovering” means a lot to me. I struggled with drug addiction for almost fifteen years. I completed a residential treatment program and a friend suggested I continue my treatment at “New Origins.” The months that followed most likely saved my life. At New Origins I was given tools to deal with my emotions and life circumstances in a positive way on a daily basis. The staff genuinely cared about my personal growth and showed it. I could not have wished for a greater opportunity. From the owners to the support staff, I knew my best interest was first priority. I was given personalized attention and focus. I was given opportunity after opportunity to make positive changes in real-life situations and now I am over 18 months clean and forever grateful. New Origins saved my life.

My experience at New Origins is one that will have a lasting effect on me. It was the New Origins team and their program that changed this hopeless and negative person into an optimistic and confident one. They helped me become a father to my children, a dependable employee, and a good friend. It was at New Origins that I learned how to properly deal with what life throws at me in a healthy and appropriate manner. Having a better understanding of how my mind tends to work allows me to use reframing techniques, for example, to remain emotionally sober. New Origins taught me much more than I expected. They understood how the stresses of the real world could disrupt my program, so I learned what should be most important in my life and how to make sure I kept those priorities in the correct order. New Origins addressed the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of my life. It is where I was able to witness with my own eyes living examples of what recovering alcoholics and drug addicts must do to remain clean and sober, to live an unselfish, responsible, productive life. That is what made New Origins different, they not only taught you how to recover but they showed you. The New Origins staff and program have undoubtedly been the most positive and effective influence in my life and I am forever grateful for their love and care.

I have struggled with drug and alcohol addiction for over 20 years. After seeking treatment numerous times over the years with little to no success, I had given up hope. I was physically, emotionally, and spiritually broken. Hitting bottom once again, I decided to give it one more shot. That’s when I heard about New Origins. From the beginning Ron, Ashley, and The New Origins staff made me feel at home. The program here far surpassed any I had experienced in the past. They provided an environment where I was able to work at my own pace and focus on my recovery. Getting the one-on-one attention I needed, allowed me to identify my core issues and gain a new understanding of myself and the disease of addiction. The staff at New Origins care about each and every client and it shows. They gave me the knowledge, tools, and courage to recover. They loved me until I could learn to love myself. My New Origins experience truly changed my life.

Being a part of New Origins has made a positive impact in my life, and has made me believe in myself. It’s a place I looked forward to attending. The staff has truly extended their hands out to me to help me through my drug addiction. I continued to learn tools that help me work through my daily struggles with my addiction. There is no other place I’d rather be.

I would like to share my experience with New Origins…. When I arrived, I was met with open arms and welcoming hearts. I was given respect and hospitality as a welcomed member of the family. During my awesome experience at New Origins, I was taught many crucial coping skills that I will utilize for a lifetime in my recovery. I also was given an amazing one-on-one confidential relationship with a counselor and therapist to discuss any type of emotional trauma, dependency issue, or life problems I had. During my stay at New Origins, I was taught how to regain my everyday role as a productive member of society. We also had several unity field trips involving lots of fun. It truly was a blessing to have been a part of such an amazing organization. Thank you, New Origins!

Want to thank you New Origins for everything you have done for my son, he has grown so much. I can't thank y'all enough for showing my son he was worth more than all the drugs. He has a new start in life, and it sounds like he has embraced it. Thanks for helping him become my son again. Your organization does wonderful things for people who we thought were lost.

Upon arriving to New Origins, my umpteenth treatment center, I was lost, aimless, riddled with skewed motivation and expectations, and completely without hope. In fact, I arrived with bitter curiosity and the malicious intent to prove "recovery" and the 12-steps wrong once again. My previous experiences with treatment centers armed me with skepticism, lack of trust, and lack of faith and assured my belief that this is a cold and money-obsessed industry. I was immediately proven wrong. New Origins is composed of the most generous, loving, and inspiring people I have ever known. I was welcomed, bitterness and all, with appreciation, positivity, and encouragement. On multiple occasions, the director, therapist, and counselors exceeded any expectations I could've only dreamed of. Individualized care is what sets New Origins apart. The recognition and attendance to dual-diagnosis, trauma, and the very ill fragments of the mind, body, and spirit. My addiction became my identity and soon stood as the only thing I couldn't "outsmart" or run from. New Origins introduced me to myself, similar to the person I had once neglected and forgotten about many years ago. I now know freedom from active addiction. As a recent graduate, I am forever grateful and indebted to New Origins; a debt that is understood to be repaid by lending my hand to the next addict or alcoholic in need.
